Paul Mitchell The School Fort Myers will permit any covered individual to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under chapter 31 or 33 and ending on the earlier of the following dates:

  1. The date on which the Department of Veterans Affairs provides payment for such course of education to such institution.

Paul Mitchell The School Fort Myers will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement of funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The school will not automatically renew a covered individual in a course and or program. All enrollment in courses will be discussed and approved by the individual before the enrollment in the course.

The school will accommodate shore absences for such services in the armed forces, we will allow enrolled members of the Armed Forces, including reserve components and National Guard to be readmitted if such members are temporarily unavailable or must suspend enrollment by reason of serving in the Armed Forces.

The school will do a financial planning session prior to enrollment to discuss the availability of federal financial aid, not administered by VA that is offered by the institution. At which time we will alert the individual of the potential eligibility for other federal financial aid before packaging or arranging student loans or alternative financing

VETERAN’S ATTENDANCE POLICY

Early departures, class cuts, tardies, etc., for any portion of a class period will be counted as unexcussed absence. Students exceeding 20% total absences in a calendar month will be terminated from their VA benefits for unsatisfactory attendance.

In order to show that the cause of unsatisfactory attendance has been removed, students must show good attendance (as defined) for one calendar month after being terminated for unsatisfactory attendance. After such time, the student may be recertified for VA education benefits.

The student’s attendance record will be retained in the veteran’s file for USDVA and SAA audit purposes.

VETERAN’S STANDARD OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS POLICY

Students receiving VA educational benefits must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 75% each month.

A VA student whose CGPA falls below 75% at the end of any month will be placed on academic probation for a maximum of two consecutive months. If the VA student’s CGPA is still below 75% at the end of the second consecutive term of probation, the student’s VA educational benefits will be terminated.

A VA student terminated from VA educational benefits due to unsatisfactory progress may petition the school to be recertified after attaining a CGPA of 75%.

VETERAN’S CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS EDUCATION OR TRAINING

Students must report all education and training. The school must evaluate and grant credit, if appropriate, with the training time shortened, the tuition reduced proportionately, and the VA and student notified.

VETERANS BENEFITS APPROVAL STATEMENT

The programs at Paul Mitchell The School Fort Myers are approved by the Florida State Approving Agency for Veterans Education (SAA) for eligible students to receive veterans’ education benefits. Students who enroll to receive these benefits are not only required to abide by the policies and rules of this school, but also by the rules and regulations of the Department of Veterans Affairs and the SAA. Students are also required to maintain all standards of conduct and satisfactory progress as stated in the official school listing.

Paul Mitchell The School Fort Myers does not and will not provide any commission, bonus, or other incentive payment based directly or indirectly on success in securing enrollment or financial aid to any persons or entities engaged in any student recruiting or admissions activities or in making decisions regarding the award of student financial aid.

Compliance with VA’s 85/15 Rule
Schools should limit student enrollment to 85% veteran enrollment per cohort. In the event that a veteran wishes to enroll in a program that has already reached the 85% cap, he or she may do that but will not be eligible for VA funding. Chapter 35 and 31 students may still enroll even if the 85% has been realized.
